The Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg (Nuremberg University of Music) is the most recently established institution in Germany to offer an academic musical training, but it can look back on a long and firmly-rooted tradition.
The third State University of Music in Bavaria was inaugurated in Nuremberg in 2008. It was created from the Meistersinger-Konservatorium and the communal University of Music Nuremberg-Augsburg.
