UCS is a new kind of institution - one that allows you to access the knowledge and resources of a range of partners along with our two validating universities, Centres throughout Suffolk and beyond, and the wider community.

Our two validating universities, the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex, established UCS in 2007, working with Great Yarmouth College, Lowestoft College, Otley College, Suffolk New College and West Suffolk College.

UCS offers an attractive portfolio of courses within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Applied Social Science and the Faculty of Health and Science. Degrees range from Foundation, Honours and Postgraduate, to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses. UCS currently employs around 200 academics who ensure the institution continues to provide students with a high quality and innovative teaching and learning experience.

The two Faculties are supported by the Offices of Academic Development and Research and Enterprise. Support to the Faculties is also provided by the Directorates of Academic Services, Estates, External Relations and Marketing, Information Technology and Planning and Partnerships.

Across the Network, student numbers have steadily increased each academic year since the first cohort of students began in 2007. Total Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) student numbers have grown from 3,058 (2007/08) to 4,224 (2010/11), a 38% increase over the three year period.

Student numbers are currently made up of full-time (65%) and part-time (35%), male (31%) and female (69%) and under 25's (54%) and over 25's (46%).
